The soundtrack to the HBO series "The Last of Us" is based on the popular music and soundscape of the video game of the same name. It was written by Academy Award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla and David Fleming. The intimate, guitar-driven soundscape reflects the emotionality of the series and takes listeners on an uncertain journey across the USA in a post-apocalyptic world, twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a fungus-driven epidemic. The sound experience is complemented by tracks from the series by Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam, Jessica Mazin and Nick Offerman.
