Elkka: Prism Of Pleasure (LP)

After coming out and moving to London in her 20s, the musician began DJing, writing and producing, which eventually led to her starting her own record label, femme culture, and hosting her own queer club nights. The album is like a female glimpse into a steamy room of wonder that revolves around the notion of queer intimacy. From the soft, silky vocals of "Crushhh" to the slowly evolving, breathy beats of "Your Skin" and the steady, undulating synth patterns of "surrender2me", "Prism Of Pleasure" unfolds like a patchwork of sweaty nights, emotional connection and hidden pleasures. Elkka has been supported by many collaborators, including Four Tet, Floating Points, TSHA, Caribou, Sofia Kourtesis, Jon Hopkins, Ben UFO and Sherelle, and recently won an AIM Award in the "Best Remix" category for her rework of Ela Minus' "Megapunk". Last year, Elkka released a 4-track EP of energetic club tools titled "DJ Friendly" and also contributed to the groundbreaking DJ Kicks series with a captivating mix that expressed her love for women and the LGBTQI+ dance community, of which Elkka is a part and regularly performs in intimate spaces and queer parties such as Panorama Bar and Feel It.
