Classical music relaxes, slows down the hectic pace, ensures concentration: in 2001, CLASSICAL CHILLING was released as a double CD - filled to the brim with musical havens of calm, with music of slowed-down beats by masters such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and many others. Now, with CLASSICAL CHILLOUT 2009, an up-to-date version of this immensely successful compilation is being released, expanded with several new tracks. When the classics mean "slow", they say "adagio". And whenever this term is used, you can be sure that the sounds in the concert hall or from the loudspeakers will bring the listener to a deep sense of calm. No wonder that the famous "Adagio" by Samuel Barber (known from the film "Platoon") marks the beginning of CLASSICAL CHILLOUT 2009. Slow tempi can be found in great instrumental and vocal music: for example in Karl Jenkins's highly spirited "Agnus Dei", in Puccini's poignant aria "O mio babbino caro" or in the medieval "Visions" by Hildegard von Bingen - but also in Debussy's piano piece "Clair de lune", the piano works by Bach or Handel's popular "Sarabande". There are also many titles from the "New Classics" category, such as film music by Ennio Morricone and Michael Nyman or compositions by Steve Reich and Arvo Pärt.
