Jon Batiste: Monk Meditations (Batiste Piano Series, Vol. 3)

Batiste Meets Monk: Following his solo piano albums *Beethoven Blues* and *Black Mozart*, the Grammy and Oscar winner continues his “Batiste Piano Series,” this time paying tribute to a jazz icon: Thelonious Monk. Two albums are being released simultaneously: “Monk Meditations” (Vol. 3), featuring introspective, free improvisations, and “Monk Movements” (Vol. 4), on which Batiste reimagines Monk’s famous compositions in new, suite-like forms.
