In time for the 30th anniversary of the Lockenhaus Festival, a valuable 5-CD box set will be released by ECM Records. The limited Cap Box with a 60-page booklet contains both older recordings of the festival performers from 1981 to 1986, which have since gone out of print, as well as those that are still available as well as those that have never been released before Lockenhaus has always been a place for young talent, and so many well-known ECM artists have appeared there early in their careers: Kim Kashkashian, Thomas Zehetmair, Thomas Demenga, Robert Levin, Heinz Holliger and many others. The box is embroidered accordingly The previously unreleased recordings on the box set date from 2001 to 2008 and include unforgettable interpretations by the Kremerata Baltica under Sir Simon Rattle of Richard Strauss' "Metamorphoses" and Olivier Messiaen's "Trois petits Liturgies de la Présence Divine" conducted by Roman Kofman Star violinist and festival founder Gidon Kremer will say goodbye to Lockenhaus after this year's festival in order to clear the way for the next generation, true to the principle of "Uncompromisingly young!
