Just in time for Daniel Barenboim's 80th birthday on November 15, 2022, this beautiful limited 3-disc vinyl edition of his recording of Mendelssohn's complete cycle of "Songs without Words" from the 1970s is released in the original artwork of the LP box set of that time, as well as with the texts of that edition, which was highly praised by the press even then: FonoForum 7/1986: "Daniel Barenboim's recording shows the qualities of his piano playing, unchanged to this day; the melodicism develops uninhibitedly yet vividly, the 'tone' has conciseness while being reasonably flexible; everything flows,rarely is anything brushed against the grain."
