Ensiferum: One Man Army (Limited Edition)

Outburn praises the songs for being consistently “epic” in scope and the band for its “focus on catchy melodies.” ENSIFERUM’s “One Man Army” is the follow-up to the acclaimed 2012 album “"Unsung Heroes" and features a breathtakingly detailed, mythologically inspired cover by renowned graphic artist Gyula Havancsák (Annihilator, Tyr, Blind Guardian, etc.). Sammi Hinkka (bassist): “The recording process was long, hard, rewarding, and full of incredible moments. We recorded a lot of material and left it exactly as it was, rather than piecing tracks together from hundreds of different tracks, aligning them to the grid, and modifying them. Of course, we also used computers, but overall we tried to keep things as analog as possible. The listener will notice the better sound and more natural groove—something that, in our opinion, is missing from many metal albums these days. All in all, the album sounds more like a live band than “MIDI metal.”
