Popis
"Sticky Fingers" is considered one of the Stones' best albums, although it was made during a very turbulent period. After Jagger, Richards & Co left Decca, they founded Rolling Stones Records for the release of "Sticky Fingers": their own label with the well-known stuck-out tongue as logo. "We were either constantly in the studio or on tour at the time," recalls Mick Taylor. "It was a permanent roller coaster ride." Then, in between recordings, the Altamont Free Concert disaster occurred in December 1969, when an audience member was stabbed to death right in front of the stage. Despite everything, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger's songwriting reached new heights on "Sticky Fingers." Rock 'n' roll, blues, Latin and country were combined on a musically unique level. First up was the blues cover "You Gotta Move." On "Sway" and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," new guitarist Mick Taylor played two of the Stones' greatest guitar solos. "Wild Horses" remains one of their most famous ballads to this day. "Brown Sugar" has been one of the great Stones anthems since 1971, and is now finally available as a bonus track on a regular basis in the alternate version with Eric Clapton. This version circulated until now only as a bootleg and the fans argue for a long time whether this version is not the much better. The cover of "Sticky Fingers" also became a legend. Mick Jagger had commissioned Andy Warhol to design the artwork. Finally, on the front, a built-in functional zipper adorned the photo of a well-endowed man in a pair of very tight-fitting jeans. Opening the zipper revealed the white underwear. Reissue 2023 limited edition for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Rolling Stones in London, made in Japan, with paper sleeves and SHM CDs. First release in 5-inch paper sleeve format, plus a card with the sleeve design of the reissue is included. Includes Japanese obi-strap audio: remaster 2009 and Japanese booklet with song lyrics and Japanese translations.
