Commodores: Anthology (2CD)

Long before Lionel Richie became one of the biggest pop solo stars of the eighties, he was a member of the Commodores, who were once called "The Funkiest Band In The Land" and were one of Motown's most successful bands in the seventies. Compared to numerous other compilations, "Anthology" seemed to include all of their favorite songs and more. From the earlier hits like "Brick House", sung by drummer Walter "Clyde" Orange, to the later and biggest hits "Easy" and "Three Times A Lady", sung by Lionel Richie. What makes this album special is that it includes songs like "Jesus Is Love" and some of their earlier instrumentals and hard-to-find songs. Also included in this set is a rare gem, an early Commodores single that wasn't as successful, but still can't be missed here: "Are You Happy?"
