"Regimental Sgt. Zippo" is the legendary "album that never was" by Elton John. In early 1968, he was signed as an artist to DJM and recorded 12 tracks for a debut album at DJM studios in London's New Oxford Street. It is unclear why the album was never released, but an order of the tracks was established. As part of the excavation of material for the jewel box, the original order was unearthed: Following the success of the limited release in mono for Record Store Day in 2021, we now offer an industry-wide release in stereo, mixed at Abbey Road with the usual care of Elton's catalog team. In addition to the previous release, this new LP edition comes with a printed inner sleeve with all lyrics.
