Nirvana: Nevermind (30th Anniversary/Limited Vinyl Boxset) (8LP)

Nirvana are one of the most important bands in rock history. They pioneered grunge and made indie rock mainstream. They and their music also became a mouthpiece for youth in the early 1990s. Their album "Nevermind" also played a big part in this. The landmark album celebrates its 30th birthday in 2021. Fittingly, four special 30th Anniversary Editions will be released. "Nevermind" was originally released on September 24, 1991, two years after their debut "Bleach". It is the band's second studio album and also their first with drummer Dave Grohl, who had previously replaced Aaron Burckhard. The album was recorded by Grohl, vocalist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic along with producer Butch Vig at Sound City (Van Nuys, California) and Smart (Madison, Wisconsin) studios. It contains twelve tracks and 13 on later pressings (hidden tracks), of which the songs "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Come As You Are", "Lithium" and "In Bloom" were released as singles "Nevermind" became an unexpected commercial success. It reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and sold about 300,000 copies a week during that time. The lead single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" reached number six on the US Billboard Hot 100, and even number two in Germany. To date, the album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time Now completely remastered from the original analog tapes for the reissue. A limited vinyl boxset with eight 180g LPs with the remastered album, the four concert recordings and also with the 7ʺ-single of "Endless, Nameless" with the b-sides "Even In His Youth" and "Aneurysm" as well as the 40-page hardcover book with unreleased photos.
