Patricia Kelly: Unbreakable

Where do you get the strength to get through crises? How do you keep your laughter when life loses its humor? Ask Patricia Kelly and the answer comes without the slightest hesitation: "My source of strength is love. That of my husband, my children, my big family; my faith and my songs." And it is precisely from this inexhaustible resource that the Irish-American singer, musician and songwriter, who already enjoyed great success in the 1990s with her family band The Kelly Family, sings in the title track to her new album "Unbreakable," which she dedicates to her husband Dennis: "We've been together for 22 years and got married in church after two years. Our love has outlasted the hard blows of fate in our lives and we have held each other in good times, but also in dark times. My husband is like a tree with strong roots, and without him I might not have been able to cope with the turbulence and, above all, the loss of important people around me. I don't see myself as a particularly strong woman at all - I am a fighter, yes, but there were moments when I didn't know what to do and then my husband was always there," Patricia said in a statement. Eleven more songs await on "Unbreakable," two of which the singer co-wrote with her son Iggi: "Doll" and "Your Love." Otherwise, she had international co-writers help her with the songwriting, including her good friend Jonas Myrin (Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, Lauren Daigle, among others), Sky Adams (Kylie Minogue, among others) and British singer-songwriter Amber van Day. The result is the fearless pop album of an artist who knows what she wants. In a press release Patricia Kelly wrote: "As the main producer of 'Unbreakable' I always had in mind to fuse old-school demands with fresh, modern sound. Also, working with a lot of young artists has created a mix where I've been able to evolve and have an extreme amount of fun at the same time. I think I actually grew up a bit with this album."
