Dusty Springfield: The BBC Sessions (remastered) (2LP)

This impressive collection of sessions recorded by Dusty for the BBC between 1962 and 1970, originally released on CD in 2007, is being released on vinyl for the first time. These 22 tracks are the session tapes that have survived (the BBC recorded many sessions in the past for cost reasons) and have been preserved in good sound quality. The set includes three tracks recorded in July 1962 as part of "The Springfields" in a different, folkier style than their later recordings. Highlights include a selection of their always flawless cover versions, including Stevie Wonder's "Uptight (Everything's Alright)", The Rascals' "Good Lovin'", Jackie Wilson's R&B stomper "Higher and Higher (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me)" and the Bee Gees classic "To Love Somebody". Other tracks include BBC interpretations of some of their biggest hits - "Wishin' and Hopin'", "Little by Little", "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me", "Son of a Preacher Man" and "I Just Don't Know What to do with Myself".
