Popis
Rainbow was founded in 1975 by Ritchie Blackmore after he left Deep Purple. It quickly became clear that he would have no less success with Rainbow. The band released a series of hit albums with constantly changing line-ups. On "Live In Munich 1977" you can hear a line-up with singer Dio and drummer Powell. Blackmore arrived in Munich very late, which meant that the show in Munich had to be postponed for a day. The band seemed galvanized by this and played one of the most memorable concerts of their career.
This DVD+2CD package of Live in Munich 1977 features Rainbow's "Long Live Rock'n'Roll" line-up with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, singer Ronnie James Dio, drummer Cozy Powell, bassist Bob Daisley and David Stone on keyboards.
Ritchie Blackmore had to be smuggled out of Austria after getting into trouble with the police at a gig two nights earlier and arrived in Munich very late, inspiring both the band and the audience to put on a truly remarkable performance. The band took the stage at just before midnight with a huge, 28-foot high and 40-foot wide electric rainbow that created a multi-colored lighting effect from the 3000 light bulbs.
