When Frank Sinatra and producer Quincy Jones met again in the studio for the first time in twenty years in 1984 for a joint album production, the music world held its breath. A big band of top musicians and prominent guests such as George Benson, Lionel Hampton and Bob James rounded off the meeting of the two entertainment giants. "L.A. Is My Lady" made it to number 58 in the Billboard pop charts and number 8 in the jazz charts. The unusually pop-funky title song for Sinatra, which even made it into MTV rotation, and the other tracks in the classic swing style have long been among the singer's most popular songs. The "40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" has now been remixed brand new by the former sound engineer Larry Walsh.
