Stanley Turrentine: Easy Walker (180 g) (LP)

In the early 1960s, tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine made a name for himself as a soulful soul jazz musician. He could often be heard on the albums of this period together with his wife at the time, Hammond organist Shirley Scott. In the mid-1960s, Turrentine opened up to more progressive jazz sounds on albums such as "Easy Walker" without losing his identity. The varied program of "Easy Walker" included hard grooving numbers as well as sensual ballads, including a version of the Burt Bacharach hit "What The World Needs Now Is Love" and, as a surprise, a song by the Austro-Hungarian operetta composer Franz Lehár.
