Jeff Beck: Truth

Jeff Beck's mentor and producer Mickie Most had the right instinct. After the breakup of the Yardbirds and three successful pop singles, he set his sights on a solid band for the guitar artist. This was formed with singer Rod Stewart, bassist Ron Wood and drummer Micky Waller. The debut album Truth from 1968 is firmly rooted in blues rock and contains originals by Willi Dixon, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. Tracks by B. B. King and Buddy Guy, on the other hand, Beck and Stewart altered so much that they pass for their own compositions. At the same time, the album was groundbreaking for heavy metal and is considered just as influential as the first works of the Beatles, Stones or The Who.
