Us and Them is the second studio album by Shinedown, recorded in Jacksonville, Florida and Sanford, Florida. "Perfectly staged alternative rock dominates on his bearish second album, which never seems too slick or boring despite the glossy production. Thus, the two fabulous hits 'Heroes' and 'Atmosphere' surprise with Southern Rock influences (already on the debut Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Simple Man' was covered), the mystical half-ballad 'Lady So Divine' with The Tea Party parallels, 'Yer Majesty' with a stoner solo and the earworm 'Begin Again' with amazing heaviness in the break.
