Anyone with a passion for late Romantic music will inevitably come across the name Carl Reinecke. Countless promising composers from Germany and Scandinavia learned their technical skills from him, and hardly anyone who wanted to make a name for themselves in the city of the famous Gewandhaus Orchestra could avoid him. The composer Reinecke, who enjoyed great success during his lifetime, was quickly forgotten after his death as the keeper of the seal of musical tradition because the inevitable development rushed over him like an avalanche.
