Firewind: Firewind

Firewind have once again put all their virtues on the line and recorded with "Firewind" a more than just worthy successor to the 2017 concept work Immortals. Whenever Firewind released another new album in the past almost 20 years, the fans were not only thrilled by the excellent playing of the exceptional guitarist Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil), but also by the respective singer of the band. This has not changed on the current album "Firewind", quite the opposite: newcomer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia among others) ennobles each of the eleven new pieces with his charismatic voice and gives them an impressive expressiveness. Gus G. and Herbie Langhans got to know each other in the fall of 2019, after the Firewind boss started looking for a suitable successor for Henning Basse, who had left the band, following the tour with Queensrÿche. Just a few weeks later, the recordings were in the can and could be mixed by Swedish sound engineer Tobias Lindell (Europe, Avatar, H.E.A.T.) at Lindell Audio Studios. The result is truly worth listening to. "Firewind" convinces with two bulging hands full of first-class melodic metal numbers, which were recorded with great force, craftsmanship and tangible passion and score especially with their anthemic melodies.
