The LPs 2 & 3 (or CD 2) contain mostly previously unreleased takes from the recording sessions for "Jazz Impressions Of Black Orpheus". Jazz Impressions Of Black Orpheus is the third album by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi. With this album the pianist made his breakthrough. The album contains both original compositions and cover versions of songs from the 1959 French-Portuguese film Black Orpheus, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, and spawned the hit single "Cast Your Fate To Tthe Wind," which won the 1963 Grammy Award for Best Original Jazz Composition. Therefore, this album is often referred to as Cast Your Fate To The Wind.
