"Reveal" is the 12th studio album by R. E.M.. Studio album by R. E.M. Released in 2001, the album was co-produced with longtime collaborator Patrick McCarthy. The band experiments with synthesizer sounds, but also "consciously returns to their classic sound" (Allmusic). The album includes the hits "Imitation of Life" and "All the Way to Reno (You're Gonna Be a Star)." The album reached #1 in the UK, where it was certified platinum; in the US, "Reveal" reached #6 (with 10 weeks on the Billboard 200) and was certified gold.
