Popis
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Esperanza Spalding's GRAMMY Award-winning fourth album Radio Music Society, this 180-gram gatefold 2-LP edition is released Radio Music Society, which includes the singles "Black Gold" and "Radio Song," earned Spalding her second GRAMMY Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album and is a companion to her album Chamber Music Society. The album features guests Q Tip, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, Lionel Loueke, Lalah Hathaway, Gretchen Parlato and others Bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding is a Grammy Award-winning artist with an ambitious, eclectic approach to contemporary jazz. Hailed as a child prodigy in her teens, she gained wider attention in the 2000s with the release of her debut "Junjo" and follow-up "Esperanza," which topped the contemporary jazz charts. In 2010, she was named Best New Artist at the Grammys, an honor that helped propel her third album, Chamber Music Society, into the Billboard Top 40 as the best-selling contemporary jazz album of the year. At the same time, Spalding was also making a name for herself as a teacher, becoming the youngest faculty member at Berklee College of Music. She received a second Grammy for the album Radio Music Society, released in 2012. Spalding has remained a forward-thinking maverick, releasing a series of increasingly concept-oriented albums, including Emily's D+Evolution (2016), Twelve Little Spells (2019), and Songwright's Apothecary Lab (2021), which saw her move far from jazz toward art rock, R&B, Afro-Latin styles, neo-prog, and experimental pop.
