Popis
Till Brönner and the Great American Songbook On his new album "The Good Life", Till Brönner not only demonstrates his qualities as a trumpeter in 2016, but also as a crooner. On his new album, the German musician dedicates a total of 13 songs to the "Great American Songbook" and other classics. Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday and Nat King Cole are among those who provided the inspiration for Brönner's personal reinterpretations and arrangements. In addition, two compositions on "The Good Life" were written by the star trumpeter himself. Of course, Brönner shines as usual on his new album with his virtuoso trumpet playing. He also impresses with his soulful voice on some of the tracks. The title of the album is no coincidence. "The Good Life" is an album for relaxed, peaceful and intimate moments. The musician himself has already described the album as the most personal in a long time and as a way into the soul. The right musical framework for this intimacy is provided on "The Good Life" by some of the world's greatest jazz musicians, including John Clayton on bass, Jeff Hamilton on drums, Larry Goldings on piano and Anthony Wilson on guitar. Producer Ruud Jacobs, another master of his trade, was at the controls. The record was recorded in Los Angeles and Amsterdam. "The Good Life" is available as a standard CD in a jewel case and as a double LP on 180g heavyweight vinyl. There is also a limited Super Deluxe Edition in a linen book containing the double LP and the CD. Life is good. On his new album "The Good Life", star trumpeter Till Brönner lets some great song classics from American music history shine in new splendor. Reviews "As a trumpeter more jazz-sounding than he has been for a long time, as a singer charming with a tendency to be coquettish, 'The Good Life' shows an instrumentalist who is returning to his profound musicality. And that has charm." (stereoplay, September 2016) "When Till Brönner pays homage to standards together with guitarist Anthony Wilson, pianist Larry Goldings, bassist John Clayton and drummer Jeff Hamilton, it is neither old-fashioned nor modern, but exudes a timeless charm." (Stereo, October 2016) "But on the other hand, it is precisely this uninhibited and high-class approach with originals such as "Come Dance With Me", "I Love You, Porgy", "I'll Be Seeing You" or "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning", as Brönner - supported by Anthony supported by Anthony Wilson (g), Larry Wilson (g), Larry Goldings (p), John Clayton (b) Clayton (b) and Jeff Hamilton (dr) - how he finds his his own way, how he does not let himself and does exactly what is close to his heart what is close to his heart." (Good Times, October/November 2016)
