Dianne Reeves: When You Know

On her first Blue Note album, Dianne Reeves, one of the finest jazz singers of our time, now returns to the spotlight. "When You Know" delights with a series of excellent performances, a balanced mix of older and more recent standards, and one quite enchanting, exclusively new composition. Her versatility in song interpretation stands up to any comparison, a talent she has again made ample use of on each and every recording. In addition to guitarists Lubambo and Malone, the album recordings featured pianist Billy Childs and saxophonist Steve Wilson, as well as three veterans among their companions, bassists Reuben Rogers and Reginald Veal and drummer Greg Hutchinson. Brand new additions are pianist Geoffrey Keezer and drummer Antonio Sanchez. "When You Know" is likely to set new standards for generations of female singers.
