Dvorák: Symphony No.9 (LP)

Nikolaus Harnoncourt's legendary Dvorak recording now as a vinyl LP in HD. Nikolaus Harnoncourt made history with this recording from 1999 together with the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Gramophone magazine's review says: "Harnoncourt has some distinguished Concertgebouw predecessors, not least the structurally aware Sir Colin Davis and the incendiary Antal Dorati. This work, however, surpasses them them all. Promising things happen from the very first pages: carefully drawn woodwind lines, basses that move from fierce fortissimo to a tense pianissimo, provocative bassoons and an effortless transition into the lovely flute melody (?) The most admirable thing about Harnoncourt's Dvorak is his closeness to nature: hardly a minute goes by that is not hardly a minute goes by without being touched by greenery or sunshine somewhere."
