Adams - Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich / Paavo Järvi

With John Adams (*1947), Paavo Järvi and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich pay tribute to one of the most important composers of our time in this program. Adams has absorbed numerous influences and therefore does not see himself as a representative of any particular direction. He is neither a minimalist nor a post-minimalist nor a neo-romanticist, even if some of his pieces can be assigned to one or the other of these currents. If he refers to musical traditions in his works, then always critical and at the same time open, even to influences from pop, rock and jazz.
