In his Liturgy of John Chrysostom, written in 1910, Rachmaninoff not only understood how to grasp the text of the liturgy in depth, but also how to increase the immediate effect on the listener by means of an emphatically simple melody invention. The Rundfunkchor Berlin under Nicolas Fink present here an exemplary recording of this demanding choral work, which underlines its leading position among radio choirs in Germany.
