"Wonderwall Music" by George Harrison was released in November 1968 as the first solo album by a Beatles member and the first long-playing record on Apple Records. The predominantly instrumental album, the soundtrack music to Joe Massot's feature-length debut film "Wonderwall", is a complex, lively mosaic of western rock music and compositions in the classical Indian style. in 1992, George recalled, "I decided to make a kind of mini-anthology of Indian music because I wanted to help get the public excited about Indian music." Three bonus tracks were added to the remastered album: "In the First Place" by the Liverpool group Remo Four, who played the rock elements of the recording sessions, a previously unreleased alternative version of "The Inner Light" and the previously unreleased "Almost Shankara", a raga that was not used in the movie or on the soundtrack LP.
