Helloween had re-formed around singer Andi Deris for the predecessor "Master Of The Rings". This grouping has endured, so that they continued to work together on "The Time Of The Oath". The album also marks a musical return to the power metal of earlier days, which is combined with very catchy choruses. Thematically, the band works on the prophecies of Nostradamus.
