John Lee Hooker: Jealous (40th Anniversary Edition) (140 g) (LP)

Recorded in 1982 (but not released until 1986), the album *Jealous* was John Lee Hooker’s first album of new material in years and marked the beginning of a comeback that would culminate three years later in the Grammy-winning album *The Healer*. In contrast to the multitude of guest stars featured on most of his later albums, “Jealous” is a no-frills, down-to-earth production by Hooker’s seasoned band. The album, which featured reinterpreted, lesser-known songs from his early repertoire, ultimately won a W. C. Handy Award and was nominated for a Grammy.
