Grover Washington Jr.: Mister Magic

"Mister Magic" was the saxophonist's fourth album, with which he conquered the top of the jazz and soul charts. In a review for Allmusic, Scott Yanow gave the album five out of five stars and called it "a classic of rhythm & blues jazz." Creed Taylor's production features a long list of illustrious backing musicians, including Bob James, Eric Gale and Phil Upchurch. The recording was supervised by sound genius Rudy van Gelder.
