Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) is the 1973 debut album by American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Some of the album's songs remain among the band's best known: "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man", "Tuesday's Gone" and "Free Bird", the last of which helped the band achieve national fame. The album was certified gold on December 18, 1974 and double platinum by the RIAA on July 21, 1987. The album reached its highest chart position in 1975 with 27 on the Billboard 200.
