Vangelis: Direct

The musical style of Greek composer Vangelis is very diverse, ranging from the so-called new age music to dark ambient. Among his best-known compositions are the 1982 Academy Award-winning music for the film "The Hour of Victory" and the film scores for "Blade Runner," "1492 - The Conquest of Paradise" and "The Bounty." He also composed the anthem for the 2002 World Cup Reissue of the CD originally released in 2013 Remastered edition last hand of the classic album from 1988 by Vangelis. Remastered under supervision of Vangelis. Booklet with completely revised artwork & liner notes. Esoteric Recordings released remastered and acoustically enhanced editions of Vangelis' albums recorded for the RCA and ARISTA labels in 2013. These reissues came in deluxe digipacks and were remastered under Vangelis' personal supervision "Direct" was the first album released on Arista Records in October 1988 and recorded in Athens after Vangelis moved from London. The album title of this excellent work is inspired by Vangelis' spontaneous way of working, composing and recording simultaneously in the studio.
