Popis
After 20 years of defining and redefining electronic alt-pop, Metronomy's "Greatest Hits" is the first comprehensive collection of their "smash hits", spanning all 7 studio albums - with 20 songs on double vinyl. Also available, the Collector Double CD features the accompanying, previously unreleased "BBC Sessions" - 17 tracks that reveal further dimensions of these songs and capture the band's magnetic live energy, all recorded between 2008 and 2019. The 'BBC Sessions' are also available as a standalone double vinyl.
Thanks to the witty melodies and songwriting of multi-instrumentalist and producer Joseph Mount, Metronomy is one of the most creative bands mixing electronic pop and indie rock. With influences ranging from Devo and David Bowie to N.E.R.D. and Pavement, Mount established Metronomy as a catchy and unpredictable band with the 2006 album "Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)". The project's later albums, such as 2011's Mercury Prize-nominated 'The English Riviera', were softer and more polished, but still contained unexpected elements, ranging from the Motown and blue-eyed soul homages of 2014's 'Love Letters' to the theretro-futurism of 2019's 'Metronomy Forever'. Mount pushed Metronomy's creative boundaries with the deceptively sunny pop of 2022's "Small World" and 2024's hip-hop-tinged collaboration with Pan Amsterdam, "Nice Town".
