Shabaka: Of The Earth

Multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Shabaka (Hutchings) releases his third solo album "Of The Earth", which is also the first to be released on his own label Shabaka Records and was written and produced entirely by himself. On "Of The Earth", Shabaka returns to his signature saxophone sound, complemented by sophisticated electronics and production as well as traditional woodwind instruments and percussion from around the world. This combination underlines his versatile talent and shapes the overall sound of the album. Hutchings is highly regarded for his work with The Comet Is Coming, Sons Of Kemet, Shabaka And The Ancestors as well as two recent solo projects "Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace" (2024) and "Afrikan Culture" (2023). As a musician, he has worked with a number of renowned artists, including Andre 3000, Floating Points, Mulatu Astatke, The Sun Ra Arkestra, Lianne La Havas, Saul Williams and many more.
