Even 30 years later, the album sounds as vibrant as ever—a testament to the bold vision that went into its creation. At a time when DJ culture was still writing its own rules, Sasha and John Digweed consciously broke new ground. Inspired by sounds they’d discovered on earlier trips to America—from Rabbit In The Moon to Future Sound Of London—they created something in which atmosphere took precedence over dancefloor conventions. Upon its release, the album was panned by DJ Mag; history has long since revised that judgment. “Northern Exposure Redux” marks the 30th anniversary with a definitive reissue of the two original mixes, complemented by a newly created ambient mix.
