Small Faces: The Autumn Store (3CD)

This album was hastily released in November 1969, shortly after the band broke up. It is an anthology-like work containing most of the original 7" records from IMMEDIATE and DECCA as well as live recordings and some unreleased songs from a failed next album. This deluxe 60th anniversary edition of IMMEDIATE is overseen by the band's original drummer, KENNEY JONES, and released under a joint name with KENNEY's label, NICE RECORDS. This 3LP edition includes remixed unreleased tracks from the OLYMPIC STUDIOS session tapes, acoustic mixes that were only available on the 2014 CHARLY box set "HERE COME THE NICE - THE IMMEDIATE YEARS BOXSET 1967-69" and a performance at Newcastle City Hall on November 18, 1968. Includes an extensive introduction by KENNEY JONES, track-by-track recording information, notes on the unfinished album 1862, whose working title was inspired by Steve Mariott's home address at the time, a previously unreleased interview with keyboardist Ian McLagan, previously unreleased artwork, created by McLagan in 1966 at the legendary "Small Faces House" at 22 Westmorland Terrace, a recent conversation between KENNEY JONES and GERED MANKOWITZ about their time at OLYMPIC STUDIOS and IMMEDIATE RECORDS, rare memorabilia and a 68-page hardcover book with previously unpublished photos. 3LP, 180 gram vinyl in Autumn Stone and Gold colors. This is a limited edition box set of 3,000 copies. What I particularly love about this new deluxe edition is that the Small Faces finally get to have their say. Shortly after we split into The Faces and Humble Pie, we released an Autumn Stone compilation and no one noticed the huge mistake on the cover or the missing songs! We added an acoustic mix with Steve Marriott's great voice, a live track, remastered on vinyl at the correct speed, and remastered everything from the original tapes, including the Decca tracks. We've added songs that Ronnie, Mac and Steve, myself enjoyed working on and fixed all the mistakes in the original sound. The booklet includes photos by Small Faces photographers Gered Mankowitz and Tony Gale, and I'm delighted to be working with Gered on an album he originally helped create.
