Toto: Toto IV

The band became popular worldwide with their fourth album "Toto IV" (1982), for which they received platinum awards in several countries. The hits "Rosanna" and "Africa", in particular, finally earned the band the status of a world-class, radio-friendly AOR band. The album sold millions of copies until 1983 and the band received a total of six Grammys. According to the band members, Bobby Kimball could only be heard as a backing vocalist on the 1984 follow-up "Isolation" and was eventually fired. Fergie Frederiksen took over the lead vocals for the album. The album also went gold several times and, with "Stranger In Town", was the highest-placed mainstream rock single. Both albums are now available for the first time as remasters from Rock Candy. They come with extensive new liner notes, new mastering in 24 BIT and rare archive images in the booklet.
