Jeff Beck: Wired

'Wired' is the 1976 solo album by Jeff Beck. This album marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration with former Mahavishnu Orchestra keyboardist Jan Hammer, with whom Beck went on tour shortly thereafter. Beck and Hammer interacted extensively, making his synthesizer sound almost exactly like a guitar. The result was a more "synthetic" sound, hence the title "Wired." Some tracks feature members of the "Blow by Blow" lineup. These tracks were recorded during the "Blow by Blow" sessions, but were left off this album and transferred to Wired. One of the most praised tracks is Beck's rendition of the Charles Mingus classic "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat".
