For Sascha Ring a.k.a. Apparat, sound research is also always an exploration of emotions. On seven albums and various maxis, the curly-haired man from Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt, who now lives in Berlin, has developed a multi-faceted, emotional cosmos. Now he is back with the soundtrack for Tolstoy's play "War and Peace", which was staged by Sebastian Hartmann for the Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen! After the performances, he went into the studio with two string players and brought his sound creations into album form in just a few sessions. In addition to the three soulful vocal tracks, the post-rock soundscapes of the beautiful instrumental pieces inspire you anew every time you listen to them. One thing is certain: Sascha Ring has once again achieved a precision landing with this album: a trip full of wonderful Apparat moments on a different stage.
