Massive Attack: Heligoland

MASSIVE ATTACK, the pioneers and the original rocks of Trip-Hop from Bristol, are back at last. Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grantley "Daddy G" Marshall release 7 years after their last longplayer, the long awaited 7th studio album called "Heligoland". Already at the end of October 2009 the band played three sold out concerts in Frankfurt, Cologne and Berlin, where they presented the new songs as well as the classics from their six previous albums. In addition to Horace Andy, Martina Topley-Bird, the voice of Tricky, Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Guy Garvey, singer of Elbow, as well as Damon Albarn, frontman of Blur and mastermind of the Gorillaz have also taken over the vocal parts on the album. As with the "Splitting The Atom" EP, which was released digitally in October, multitalented "3D" is once again responsible for the cover. The artwork was designed by Tom H, who has illustrated all MASSIVE ATTACK cover attacks since "Mezzanine".
