Hans Lüdemann / TransEuropeExpress: PolyJazz

The octet TransEuropeExpress unites creative minds of contemporary German and French jazz and is on a rapid journey to unknown destinations. They draw creative strength from the confrontation and combination of their different dialects and form colorful and multi-layered images of European jazz. In the no man's land between the usual small formations and big bands of jazz, the T.E.E. manages the feat of uniting improvisational freedom and individuality of the musicians with a wide range of sound colors. Against a stylistically wide-open horizon, virtuosity, sensitivity, poetry, wit, emotion, expressiveness and joy of playing turn complex music into a sensual pleasure and leave postmodernism behind with ease. Started as the T. E.E. Ensemble project with its premiere in Paris in 2013, the TransEuropeExpress has developed into a homogeneous and lively ensemble. The four French and four German musicians are Yves Robert (trombone), Theo Ceccaldi (violin), Alexandra Grimal (soprano / tenorsax), Sebastien Boisseau (double bass) Silke Eberhard (alto sax / bass clarinet), Ronny Graupe (guitar), Dejan Terzic (drums) and Hans Lüdemann on piano. Kalle Kalima can be heard on the CD as guitarist.
