Mátyás Szandai Quartet: Sādhana

The album title comes from Sanskrit and roughly means "to go straight towards a goal, to accomplish something". And this is precisely the approach of the Mátyás Szandai Quartet, who create their music with an almost spiritual power in order to find themselves. The foundation of the quartet is laid by the composer Mátyás Szandai on the double bass. He is accompanied by musicians from different backgrounds, all of whom add their own touch. Guitarist Nelson Veras comes from Brazil and drummer Fabrice Moreau from France, while tenor saxophonist Ricardo Izquierdo was born in Cuba. Their different paths came together in the Paris jazz scene to broaden their own horizons.
