Eric Clapton: Slowhand

Eric Clapton has been in the spotlight for almost fifty years now, and the image of him as an artist is very complex - from his beginnings as a guitar legend to an extremely sensitive songwriter and interpreter of diverse genres such as blues and jazz, rock or country. His albums are stylistically very versatile and deal with a wide variety of topics, but few feel as much like a whole as Slowhand does Slowhand was recorded in May 1977 at Olympic Studios in southwest London and produced by Glyn Johns. It reached #2 on the Billboard charts and stayed there for five weeks. In total, the album remained on the American album charts for 74 weeks On Slowhand are songs like Wonderful Tonight, Lay Down Sally and Cocaine - songs you still hear regularly on the radio and at Eric Clapton's concerts. So long after its release, it has a permanent place in Clapton's overall oeuvre.
