Cure: Seventeen Seconds

In May 1980, The Cure released what is probably their most minimalist album: Seventeen Seconds. Even if it is somewhat difficult to access at first, the hidden depths of the album become apparent after listening to it several times. From then on, the hidden and the sometimes somewhat difficult access are considered the characteristics of the band's sound. The Cure changed their bassist at the beginning of the recording of Seventeen Seconds. Michael Dempsey was replaced by Simon Gallup, whose bass playing was to change and shape the entire atmosphere of the music. The band had found their characteristic sound, which made them world-famous.
