David Crosby: Lighthouse

"Lighthouse" is the name of David Crosby's fifth studio work under his own direction. Well, not quite: For songwriting and production, the singer and guitarist got help from Michael League of the US jazz collective Snarky Puppy. Crosby had already supported the band on their new album "Family Dinner Volume Two" at the beginning of 2016. In February 2016, they went into the studio together again, where they recorded "Lighthouse" in its entirety within just two weeks. The result is a total of nine songs, including the first single "Things We Do For Love" - a love song that Crosby wrote for his wife Jan Dance. The music on "Lighthouse" is described by the musician himself as raw and reduced to the essentials. So on the album you hear mainly Crosby's vocals and his guitar, but no drums or percussion, apart from his wedding ring, with which he occasionally taps on the side of his guitar.
