KUU! : Artificial Sheep

"Artificial Sheep" is the Berlin band's second album after their acclaimed debut "Lampedusa Lullaby" With "Artificial Sheep" the quartet now goes one better: yearning, charming and direct, then again brittle, unwieldy and provocative, the highly intense singer Jelena Kuljić interprets the flood of images of the present with their increases in urgency. The two guitars of Kalle Kalima and Frank Möbus merge into one mega-instrument, serving neither the competitive of jazz nor the simplistic of rock. Christian Lillinger's drums strike into this in-between realm with ever new punchy finesses. The result is music exactly for this time: energetic, disruptive, powerful, yet at the same time filigree and hauntingly plausible: a stroke of luck for unprejudiced listeners.
