"Red" will be 50 years old on October 6, 2024. To celebrate the anniversary of this King Crimson classic, DGM and Panegyric are releasing a 50th Anniversary Edition in October 2024, available as a 4-disc box set (2 Blu-ray audio and 2 CDs) and a 2-LP-200g vinyl set.

This edition features all-new Dolby Atmos, 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio surround and stereo mixes by Steven Wilson that bring the music to a new level of clarity and power. "Red" was one of the first mixes Steven Wilson did in 2009. King Crimson was the first in a series of classic bands and artists to be mixed by Steven, so it's only fitting that he returns 15 years later to bring the album into the Dolby Atmos era.

Also included is a full album of Elemental Mixes by longtime King Crimson producer (and band manager) David Singleton, who uses the original multitrack recordings to present a very different soundscape of the album, with more separation of instruments and using many recorded elements that were recorded for the original mixes but are not included.
As King Crimson biographer Sid Smith writes in his new notes on the album, "David Singleton's elemental mixes lift the veil on the original sessions and act as a kind of alternative account, a red that could have been, revealing the various passes and takes the band undertook, as well as those of Collins, Charig and McDonald as they grappled with the material."
Several new tracks and studio recordings - representing all the material from the recording sessions - have also been remixed and/or remastered, making this the most comprehensive overview of the album ever released.
"Red" was recorded immediately after King Crimson's final US tour in 1974. The anniversary edition reflects this by including all three hi-res stereo mixes of the live USA album in their complete concert versions. Also included are a quintet of audio-restored bootlegs, released on disc for the first time, as well as a bootleg of the band's final US concert in New York in 1974, which Robert Fripp says was "The first gig since 1969's Crimson where my spine registered "out of this world" to the same degree."
