On "Pagan Rites", Ixtahuele create their own exotica universe and combine tradition and modernity to create an atmospheric soundtrack for every tiki bar. Inspired by their home, the melting pot of the port city of Gothenburg, and pioneers of the genre such as Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman, Ixtahuele combine different influences from jazz, pop and Latin to surf and world music to create their own style and sound. Tracks like "Lotus Eaters" or "Rarohengan Dance" combine swinging jazz piano with driving rhythms and classic exotica sounds, including indispensable ingredients such as bird calls and a mysterious jungle atmosphere.
